oh my goodness!

It has been over a year since I posted to my blog. It is amazing how fast time (and life in general) flies by! Needless to say many things in my life have changed. I have made the decision to stop selling my work at craft shows. I find more often then not that I am not really a good fit for most of the shows I have vended at. I know that my work is unique and appeals to a certain audience...I am still seeking that audience. As I put shows on the back burner, I have started to seek full-time employment for the first time in over ten years. I have spent the last 10 years raising my kids and running my business. Financially it has not been easy but I thank my lucky stars that I was able to be home for both of my kids for so long!

Over the last decade I have created hundreds of illustrations, been published in many magazines, taught art classes at a local art studio, had this very blog featured in Artful Blogging, had two solo art exhibits, learned a ton about social media, and helped many local businesses with their graphic design and marketing. Now I simply need to find an employer who recognizes the value of these skills and will give me the opportunity to flourish once again in the business world. I feel that even though I have been very busy in the world of Dark Faerie Creations and have a fan base across the globe, perhaps my resumé is not quite getting the point across.

I am putting this out there to the Universe...hoping that my feet land in a place where I can grow as an artist, enjoy the company of co-workers once again and somehow make a difference in this crazy world we live in.

Here is my latest illustration:
