My long time away......

So much has happened.....dealing with the loss of my dad has been so hard...but some happy news sent me on a emotional roller coaster ride that I never expected. I'm pregnant. Yes, little baby #2 is on the way. The little bundle will be arriving the end of November. Being pregnant again has been a wonderful experience. The first trimester was a little tough with the never ending nausea....but I'm feeling so much better now and full of energy. This is my first vegan pregnancy so if anyone has any helpful advice please let me know.....

The pictures are from our garden....

Congratulations on the pregnancy! My cravings this time around have been very different to the first time when I was vegetarian. Then I was all about the cheese on pasta, creamy sauces, garlic bread etc.

This time I actually had cravings for salad! I have also eaten a lot of hummus and falafel with salad. I went through a big carbs phase, but didn't want the cheesy creamy stuff, just potatoes and pasta served in pretty plain ways.

I don't know if they routinely check for B12 in the States but I had to ask for mine to be tested and it had fallen quite a bit, which isn't anything to worry about as it does happen in pregnancy. It did take them a while to find me a non-animal sourced B12 tablet to take though and I ate a lot of cereal and soya milk to try and keep it from falling any more.

Sorry, rambling now! Hope it all goes well for you!

I have been craving lots of carbs as well....but also have had no cravings for cheese this go round. I relied alot on dairy during my last pregnancy (I was vegetarian also) this go round I have been eating tons of fruit, veggies, tofu and hummus! I found a vegan prenatal on Pangea.com...it has plenty of B12 (1600%) hopefully I have that covered. How far along are you?
